Eamonn Holmes reveals royal wedding guests he wouldn’t have invited

He was discussing rumours surroundings Prince Harry

| Updated:

Eamonn Holmes has admitted he didn’t understand why Prince Harry invited two of his ex-girlfriends to the royal wedding last weekend.

On Friday’s This Morning, Eamonn and Ruth Langsford were joined by presenter Anthea Turner and journalist Nilufer Atik to discuss whether you can still remain friends with your ex partners.

They spoke about where you draw the line at remaining on good terms with a former love interest.

Nilufer said: “I don’t understand why anybody would want or need to remain friends with an ex. Why was [Chelsy] at the wedding though?”

Eamonn chimed in: “You’ve got a very good point. I can honestly say, if that had of been me in that situation and those were two exes of mine, they would not be [on my guest list].”

Harry and Chelsy had a seven-year on-off relationship, which ended in 2011.

The prince then dated Cressida for two years from 2012 to 2014.

On Friday, Anthea said she thinks you can remain friends with an ex while Nilufer didn’t agree.

Eamonn suggested that there’s a “very thin divide line” between love and hate.

Ruth said: “Why would you need to [be friends with an ex], you’re not with them any more. You weren’t just friends, you had a relationship with that person.”

Eamonn added: “There are those people watching that would say if you’re able to [stay friends with an ex], you never loved them enough in the first place.”

Ruth said “Or, are you still holding a torch? That’s where the lines get blurred for a lot of people. Why do you need that person still in your life?”

Harry and former actress Meghan – now The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – married at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19.
