Eamonn Holmes mistakes Jake Quickenden for a stripper on This Morning

A case of mistaken identity!

Eamonn Holmes has confessed he mixed up Dancing On Ice star Jake Quickenden with a male stripper on Friday.

The Northern Irishman revealed his error while chatting to Jake on This Morning about his recent Dancing On Ice win.

The interview came just after Eamonn and wife Ruth Langsford had spoken to former Big Brother contestant and male stripper Lotan Carter.

So the mistake wasn’t completely random!

Eamonn, 58, kicked off the interview with Jake and his Dancing On Ice co-star Kem Cetinay by saying: “We had a male stripper at the start of the programme today and I said, ‘Jake, how are you?’ He looked exactly like you, so he did! Have you ever been a male stripper? He looked very like you, I thought!”

Jake found it quite funny and clarified he’d never been a stripper.

He and Kem were on This Morning to chat about the upcoming Dancing On Ice live tour, which kicks off on Friday, 23 March on London.

The massive tour, which also features Torvill & Dean, continues until mid-April.

“It’s all around the country,” said Jake.

“There are routines you’ll have seen but we also have Jayne [Torvill] and Chris [Dean] choreographing everything for us now. They are doing all the opening numbers and stuff like that, so we have a boys’ number where we are like Chippendales.”

Eamonn piped up: “I told you! I said you used to do this!”

Kem joked: “He wants to be a stripper!”

Jake laughed: “That’s it. Tops off. It’s so fun. A right laugh.”

Although it’s fun, Jake did admit the rehearsals are gruelling and even quipped he’s a bit scared of Torvill & Dean! “They’re legends so we don’t really want to annoy them,” he said.

“We want to have fun and not take it too serious,” added Kem. “But because that’s their thing, you kind of have to.”

Jake said there is less pressure on the tour in some ways as it’s not live, but on the flip-side, fans have paid for tickets to come see them so you want to put on the best show ever.

The former I’m A Celebrity and X Factor contestant won Dancing On Ice last weekend.

He and pro partner Vanessa Bauer triumphed over Coronation Street actress Brooke Vincent and fellow finalist, rugby star Max Evans.
