This Morning duo reportedly working on ‘exciting’ new TV show

Would you tune in?

TV fans could soon be in for a treat, with the news that Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are lining up a new TV show to present.

The husband and wife duo are reportedly filming a pilot show for Channel 5 that they hope will become a weekly entertainment show.

After years of standing in for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, it’s about time the pair had the chance to shine for themselves – and get their own opening titles, right?

This rumoured new show won’t be the first TV project the couple have presented away from This Morning, recently.

They joined forces for the brilliant Channel 5 documentary, Eamonn & Ruth’s 7 Year Itch, last year.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Eamonn and Ruth are a top presenting team so it’s no surprise there’s plenty of interest from TV producers.

“The show is at the pilot stage but there’s confidence within Channel 5 that it will become a full series.”

Especially following the news that Eamonn has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list, and of course Ruth was a roaring success on Strictly Come Dancing.

With a working title of What A Week With Eamonn & Ruth, the pilot show, if a success, could go on to run for a full series, something the presenting duo’s fans would be very excited about.

But would that mean that they would have to give up their beloved This Morning?

The short answer? Nope! (Thank goodness!)

Eamonn already works for Channel 5 and other ITV shows, and, of course, had a long-running partnership with Sky News, while Ruth is a regular on Loose Women on ITV and also works on shows for Channel 5 and QVC.

She also juggled her Strictly stint on BBC One with duties on This Morning last year.

Can you imagine the This Morning couch without them?

As if that would happen!
