DOI’s Dan Whiston says Gemma Collins’ horror fall has ‘cursed’ other contestants

There's more drama on the ice!

Dancing On Ice’s creative director Dan Whiston has revealed that Gemma Collins’ dramatic fall has had a knock-on effect with the other contestants.

Dan says since the TOWIE star’s accident on the ice the week before last, other celebrities are now injuring themselves!

The choreographer revealed that he thinks Gem’s incident, which left her using a wheelchair at first, is a “sign of things to come”.

He told The Sun: “It was really, really awful. It was almost as if Gemma’s fall from last week’s show… it was a sign of things to come.

“Everyone was getting injured. She’s got black knees, they’re so bruised, she hurt her chest as well.”

The 37-year-old still has bad bruising on her legs from the accident and says she was left in “agony”.

Professional skater Dan also recalled Pussy Cat Doll Melody Thonrton’s close call during training last week, calling it one of the “nastiest” falls he’s seen.

Melody, 34, fell and cracked her chin on the rink while practising a difficult move. She and her pro partner Alex Demetriou were then forced to change their routine.

Dan, 42, added: “She hit her face full force into the ice which was just horrific for her.

“We’ve had some really nasty falls over the last seven days.”

Coronation Street star Jane Danson, 40, nearly didn’t make it to this week’s live show either, after she slipped and temporarily fainted during the dress-rehearsal and was carried off on a stretcher.

Luckily, Jane made a speedy recovery and managed to perform later that day.

Dan reckons that now only the “strongest” will keep going as the competition heats up. But he insisted that the “army” of celebs are putting up a good fight!
