His X Factor boss has a strange way of treating his staff

Dermot O’Leary and Simon Cowell’s relationship has been anything but smooth…

Talking on ITV’s Lorraine, Dermot said he urged the music mogul to get rid of the Six Chair Challenge because it’s so nerve-wracking and uncomfortable to watch.

Apparently, the new father LOVED that fact Dermot didn’t like it.

“He just said, ‘Great. Marvellous. We are definitely going to still do it’,” the 43-year-old said.

“He doesn’t mind that I don’t like it. In fact, I think he’s happy to see me unhappy!”

Well, that’s just mean!

However, Dermot being Dermot, he was super nice about him.

He confessed that he actually feels sorry for Simon because he’s not as bad as everybody thinks he is.

“He’s softened a lot since becoming a dad,” he added.

“Actually, over the last five years, you’ll rarely hear him say something mean. I feel sorry for him because he’s a warmer beast than people think he is.”

We love how he compared him to a beast…

He then made an observation: “When he speaks to contestants, he gives constructive feedback whereas Louis [Walsh] is a lot bitchier!”

Lorraine told the host he had a point and that it is completely true!

This weekend, Saara Aalto, 5 After Midnight and Matt Terry will all be battling to be crowned this year’s X Factor winner.

With just days to go, Dermot thinks the competition is too close to tip any of the finalists for glory.

He added: “They’ve all been in the bottom two and they’ve all been number one at some point or other.”

Nobody can call it!
