One wrote: “Aww what lovely news. Congratulations Dec. The baby is going to grow up to be a very, very small man.”

Another said: “Gonna be a small small man!! A very small small man!”

A third added: “You may get called a small, small man, but now you’re having a small, small baby….. that should stop them. CONGRATULATIONS X.”

And a fourth chipped in: “Congratulations I couldn’t be more happy for you both you deserve it so much now there’s gonna be a ‘very small man/Woman’ in your family isn’ there Dec?”

And many, many more have followed suit, all in good nature, of course!

Others, however, flipped the funny catchphrase, with one pointing out: “Wonderful news congratulations to you both you’re going to be a very tall man compared to a very small baby.”

Dec’s “small man” catchphrase was coined during the last series of I’m A Celebrity and used to describe contestant Dennis Wise.

The cheeky presenter referred to 5ft 6in Dennis as a “very small man” throughout the series, until telly partner Ant McPartlin pointed out Dec himself is EXACTLY the same height!

It was one of the highlights of the last series, providing plenty of amusement for viewers.

When Dennis was eliminated from the jungle, he and Dec even stood back to back so Ant could prove once and for all they were the SAME height… only it turned out Dennis was actually slightly taller! Sorry, Dec!

Dennis later told The Sun he found the quips absolutely “hilarious”.

“I have seen what they’ve said about me while I was in the jungle and it was brilliant,” he said. “Honestly, I don’t mind the mickey being taken of me. I thought it was hilarious.”
