Dec Donnelly’s wife reveals baby bump at BAFTAs

Dec and Ali are expecting their first child together

Declan Donnelly and wife Ali Astall have made their first red carpet appearance since announcing a baby is on the way!

The married couple attended the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday evening, where Dec’s shows, Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent, were nominated.

Beaming for the cameras, Dec, 42, looked every inch the proud dad-to-be as he posed alongside pregnant wife Ali at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

The couple announced in March that they are expecting their first child together – well, a newspaper announced the happy news for them, prompting Dec to confirm it via Twitter.

Alongside a beautiful picture from their wedding, Dec told fans: “Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages.

“The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child. Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it.”

They wed in 2015 at a star-studded ceremony attended by the likes of Dec’s telly partner Ant McPartlin, and fellow TV presenters Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Paddy McGuinness and Fearne Cotton.

Dec and Ali tied the knot at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Dec’s native Newcastle in August, after getting engaged the previous November in Australia.

It was a successful night at the BAFTA TV Awards for Dec, as Britain’s Got Talent won Best Entertainment Programme.

Dec’s other show, Saturday Night Takeaway, had also been nominated in the category, alongside The Voice and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.

His telly partner Ant was not at the event, as he continues to take time away from the spotlight.

It’s been confirmed that Dec will host the Britain’s Got Talent live shows solo this year, after he successfully presented the final two Saturday Night Takeaway episodes by himself.
