Declan Donnelly’s fans have been flooding him and wife Ali with well-wishes after the couple confirmed a baby is on the way.
And well-meaning admirers have also been rushing to offer Dec, 42, and Ali, 40, invaluable words of advice as they prepare to embark on first-time parenthood.

Sleep, sleep, sleep and LOTS of it!

One fan told Dec: “A very big congratulations to you both and get your sleep in while you still can!”
Another said: “Really pleased for both of you just enjoy your sleep ins for now ha love to you both x.”
A third agreed: “Many congratulations to you both. Such fantastic news. Enjoy this special time together, and sleep….. Lots!”
A fourth added: “Get some sleep now mate.”
Another fan advised: “So happy for you both. Enjoy the silence at home while you can because it is about to become a little noisy xx Good Luck lovely.”
Other fans rushed to explain to TV star Dec just how life-changing having a baby is, telling him it will be the best thing he and Ali have ever experienced.
One said: “Congratulations to you both, having a child is the single most amazing and fulfilling and life changing experience ever!! It’s brilliant news and what a lucky little baby he or she will be.”
Another agreed: “Congratulations both on your baby news. Best feeling in the world when the little bundle arrives and completes a space in your heart you never knew was empty and fills you with more love than you ever thought you could hold.”
Many other fans have been telling Dec and Ali that they’ll be great parents, while wishing Ali a happy and healthy pregnancy.
And, of course, there were the inevitable “very small man” jokes about the upcoming arrival!
Well, someone had to say it!
Dec and talent manager Ali announced their happy news on Sunday evening, after it leaked earlier in the day in a tabloid newspaper.
Alongside a beautiful picture from their wedding, Dec told fans: “Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages.
“The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child. Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it.”
The couple wed back in 2015 at a star-studded ceremony attended by the likes of Dec’s telly partner Ant, and fellow presenters Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Paddy McGuinness and Fearne Cotton.
They tied the knot at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Dec’s native Newcastle in August, after getting engaged the previous November in Australia.
Dec later told The Jonathan Ross Show that he’d proposed as the sun went down on their final day of the trip.
“It got to the last evening and we’d organised dinner on the beach and we went round to one side of the island, the only place on the island where you can see the sun set, and we just went round and we watched the sunset go down and we did it there, it was lovely.”

In an interview with The Sun’s Fabulous magazine last year, Dec had spoken of his desire to have kids with Ali.
He said: “Absolutely at some point, when the time is right… We’ll have to put some time in the diary. [Laughs] Things are pretty busy!”
