David Walliams and Matt Lucas finally back on friendly terms as fans call for reunion

The pair partied together at Luke Evans' 40th birthday

Once close friends as well as colleagues, David Walliams and Matt Lucas famously fell out on a number of occasions during the height of their Little Britain success.

However, it looks like the comedians have finally settled any differences they once had.

On Saturday night the Britain’s Got Talent judge shared a picture on Instagram of them both decked out in fancy dress for Beauty and The Beast actor Luke Evans’ star-studded 40th birthday party.

“Party time @realmattlucas,” David, 47, captioned the picture.

The photo immediately prompted a flurry of responses from excited Little Britain fans who were thrilled to finally see them back on friendly terms.

“They’re friends again!” one wrote, while others were hopeful that it meant a possible TV reunion.

“Please do something like Little Britain together. I miss you, I miss true humour,” a second shared.

While a third commented, “This makes me beyond happy to see you together again. Happy for the both of you… Life is too short and your past differences aren’t worth throwing away the bond and friendship you both have and had.

“Go and have a wonderful time together and make some more comedy gold.”

The pair teamed up for a number of projects, but it was Little Britain, which first aired in 2003 and ran until 2009, that saw them really make it big.

However, in 2011 the pair stopped working together amid reports of tension.

Opening up about their fall out, Matt described in his autobiography how things became strained between them during their Little Britain Live tour in 2005.

He said they were “often at loggerheads” and would row over small things, which would then escalate. In one instance, Matt said the pair ended up in a vicious row backstage.

In 2012, David was asked about his friendship with Matt during a radio interview, to which he replied: “We’re very different people and probably want different things and had different working methods.”

He went on: “Well, it’s over for the time being. Whether it’s over forever I don’t know.”
