Danny Dyer’s announces new BBC TV show Right Royal Family

This is going to make such amazing telly

In truly excellent news, the BBC has confirmed a new show starring Danny Dyer – and it sounds completely epic.

The EastEnders star will be teaching viewers all about British history, in a two-part show called Danny Dyer’s Right Royal Family.

It will see him get hands-on with 800 years of ancestors, which means we’ll see Danny eating sheep’s tongue like a viking, dressing in an Elizabethan ruff like a king, and hunting like William the Conqueror.

In case you’d forgotten, the Cockney actor’s royal lineage was discovered back in 2016, during his appearance on Who Do You Think You Are?

He had his family tree traced and found out he had links to William the Conqueror, Edward III and Thomas Cromwell.

The actor, 41, said in a statement: “I’m still in shock at the fact that I’m related to such important people. I’ve had a ball getting to know them. It was a nutty experience.”

A BBC spokeswoman added: “His journey is a retelling of 800 years of British history – which is all there in his extraordinary bloodline”.

We don’t yet have a date when this will air, but we’ll be waiting by the TV for the next five years, just in case.
