Danny Dyer swears while presenting with Holly Willoughby at Baftas

Others found it amusing

Danny Dyer caused havoc at last night’s Bafta TV Awards when he swore during a speech.

The EastEnders actor was presenting the Must See TV Moment of the year alongside This Morning host Holly Willoughby.

Danny, who plays Mick Carter in the BBC soap, joked that he should have been nominated for the memorable moment he called former Prime Minister David Cameron a naughty word on Good Evening Britain.

During an appearance on the one-off special of the breakfast show last year, Danny called David the t-word while ranting about how David called the referendum and then resigned when the results came in.

Last night, standing next to Holly, Danny said of the nominations: “Am I one of them? Then no.

“I should have been nominated for calling Cameron a [bleep], but we’ll let it go.

“We’ll let it go for now. They did tell me not to say it so I’m just going to read that. The nominations are…”

Many viewers watching the awards ceremony from home were amused by Danny’s naughty slip of the tongue.

One person wrote on Twitter: “I love Danny Dyer, the 0 [bleep] he gives is the level I aspire to be at LOOOOL. What a legend. (Sic)”

Another said: “‘I should be nominated for calling Cameron a [bleep]’ Danny dyer is a British icon, get this man a knighthood #BAFTATV.”

A third added: “Danny Dyer calling David Cameron a [bleep] should have won an award all on its own #BAFTAs.”

However, others were quick to criticise Danny over his language.

One person said: “Danny Dyer’s the [bleep]. Just can’t control himself, can he?” while another wrote: “Trust Danny Dyer to come on and make an [bleep] of himself – there’s always one who really spoils it.”

A third added: “Do me a favour, is #BAFTATV sponsored by Danny Dyer? He is so bad. Swearing and trying to be ‘hard’ is so 1996.”

It comes after Danny made headlines for calling David a naughty word during Good Evening Britain.

He ranted: “This whole Brexit thing, when you’re judging everyone on Brexit if they don’t know nothing about it.

“Who knows about Brexit? No one’s got a clue what Brexit is. It’s like this mad riddle. So what’s happened to that [expletive] David Cameron who called it on.”

Danny added: “How come he can scuttle off? He called all this on, where is he? In Europe, in Nice, with his trotters up, where is the geezer?”

Susanna was clearly left red-faced by the outburst as she pulled a face to the camera.
