Danny Dyer hints that he could be leaving EastEnders

Sounds like he's fed up!

Every soap goes through its bad year and it looks like it’s EastEnders’ annus horribilis.

Not only did they not win a single viewer voted gong at the Soap Awards earlier this year, they lost their producer and saw ratings plunge to an all time low.

Now it looks like the soap could be set to lose its biggest star!

Even though it had been reported that the BBC were excited to announce that Danny Dyer would be carrying on with the show after he signed his contract in October, it would seem that the future might not be as bright as they think.

The handsome actor has reportedly thrown a spanner in the works and told fans he may actually quit the series.

In a video clip recorded during a break in filming, The Sun Online reported that he told fans: “This takes up my life, this does. I ain’t signed yet. I’m meant to sign in October but I might give it the elbow.”

Asked if he planned to do any more films like his previous hits Football Factory and Severance, he scoffed:  “BLEEPING hell, I’m doing this.”

When pushed by the fan that they needed to see a film from him he replied: “BLEEPING tell me about it.”

A pal of the actor clearly trying to calm the situation down told The Sun: “He didn’t want to share his personal business and was making a flippant comment. He makes no secret that he loves the show and is hopeful of sorting a deal.”

When asked about Danny’s future on EastEnders, a rep for the show said: “We never discuss artists’ contracts but we can confirm that Danny will be staying with EastEnders.”

Earlier this year Danny was ordered by his bosses to take time out from the show after he had made headlines after various wild nights out.

He has since returned to the soap and next week his wife, Linda Carter, will also comeback after actress Kellie Bright returns from maternity leave.

There’s set to be a big three-hander episode as Mick confesses his love for Whitney and Linda’s forced to address the fact her marriage is in trouble.

Will she be able to forgive him and move on? And will she confess the big secret she’s also been keeping?
