Danniella Westbrook responds to claims she was “thrown off flight”

The star reportedly got into an altercation during a flight to Spain

Earlier this week former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook was reportedly “thrown off a flight” after getting into an altercation with a group of men on a stag do while travelling to Spain.

And now a close pal to the star has spoken out about those claims insisting Danniella believes she was the “victim” of verbal abuse.

According to The Sun one passenger claimed it was Danniella, 43, who started off the argument.

They said: “When we were getting on to the plane, she dropped her water bottle and someone passed it to her and asked if she was okay.

“She replied: ‘No I’m not. They’ve made me put my handbag away in my hand luggage.'”

“She had a bit of an exchange with some other passengers as we were boarding and then we ended up waiting about half an hour without explanation.

“Danniella was then suddenly removed from the plane. She looked really upset but also very rough – not how you see on the TV or in the press.

“The captain came over the intercom and said abuse would not be tolerated,” they added.

A close friend of Danniella has now revealed what happened from the star’s point of view and told how Danniella felt following the incident.

They told The Sun: “There was a large group of men shouting remarks like ‘get your gear out for the stag’.

“She didn’t respond at all and hoped they would quieten down but after twenty minutes things had only got worse.

“Danniella then got removed from the flight by EasyJet staff as the captain refused to fly the plane until the situation was under control.

“She felt absolutely mortified being frogmarched off the plane while others took photos of her in tears.

“Then she was forced to wait another three hours for the next flight.”

The actress recently appeared on ITV’s Loose Women to talk about her recent stint in rehab, where she was overcoming her addictions “once and for all”.

Danniella told the panellists that she has turned her life around and opened a bar in Spain, where she is now living.

But the Loose ladies didn’t seem convinced that was such a good decision, considering she’s a former addict.

Jane Moore, 54, said: “You’ve opened a bar!?

“Isn’t that like being on a diet and opening a cake shop?”

Jane then went on to ask the star: “How many times are we going to see you saying, ‘I’m recovering, I’m doing well’?”

But Danniella fired back: “I will always be an addict, that’s me.”
