Chris Ramsey defends Vicky Pattison’s presenting skills, hints at TV return

Co-host Chris Ramsey has nothing but praise for the 'proper canny lass'

Thanks to her straight-talking, drunken antics and hilarious one-liners, she was a fan favourite on hit MTV show Geordie Shore.

However, Vicky Pattison’s foray into presenting proved less popular, and she was widely panned for her efforts as a co-host on I’m a Celebrity: Extra Camp.

In a gallant move, co-presenter Chris Ramsey has jumped to her defence, and has even suggested we haven’t seen the last of them on the spin-off show.

Speaking to The Sun Online, the fellow Tyne and Wear native had nothing but kind words for the former Jungle Queen, saying: “Vicky is class, I’ve worked with her a lot lately, she gives 110 per cent and she is what she is.

“She has a special place in my heart, when we started working together she asked when I was doing a gig in Newcastle, and I said May, but this was back in November.

“She said, ‘Me and my mates want to come’, but you take it with a pinch of salt as everyone says that.

“I asked a few times in the run up to the gig if she was still coming and she said she was and then 13 of her mates and her came along to my gig which was lovely. She’s a proper canny lass.”

When commenting on the news that Vicky has been given the boot by show bosses, Chris said: “We’ve heard not a single thing about the jungle.”

He also spoke on Vicky’s behalf when saying that the pair would love to be a part of the show when it returns.

“When we left last year they said, ‘Did you all enjoy it?’ We said yes, they said, ‘Would you want to do it again?’ We said yes and if the chance comes up why not?

“I’m sure we’d all be up for it, it was very positive, but you’ve heard as much as me.

“It was a very brave format and really good fun to do and hopefully they’ll do it again.”

Both Chris and Vicky are keeping very busy with their other projects – Vicky has just launched a new non-fiction book, written with the help of a ghostwriter.

Chris, meanwhile, juggles appearances on Celebrity Juice with being the host of Virtually Famous and his comedy tour.

Clearly a man of many talents, he has also been working with Playstation to develop a new game, ‘That’s You!’, set to be the first instalment of a new range entitled Playlink.

“We get really competitive [in my house], so my wife thought it was right up our street,” he joked.

“The questions are all about you and your mates and you bet on what you think is the answer, if the majority of you get it right, you get the points, it’s so much fun.”
