Corrie’s Catherine Tyldesley tells Loose Women how she got revenge on her own cheating boyfriend

Like her character Eva, but not as crazy

Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley went on Loose Women today to talk about the juicy storyline involving her character Eva Price.

Viewers of the soap have just seen Eva finally find out that her fiance Aidan has been cheating on her with her best friend Maria.

In one of the most gut wrenching reveals, text messages between the two love rats appeared on the TV screen in front of Eva and her sister Leanne.

After Eva stormed round to Maria’s house to have it out, she lost the nerve and instead ended up plotting a full on revenge scheme.

Catherine told the Loose Women: “It’s quite extreme. She very much reverts back to Eva the diva, which is great because when I first came into Coronation Street she was very much of that ilk and it’s nice to see her come back to that to see her feisty side.

“She is quite extreme with the way she reacts. I don’t think I would have done those things personally but for me as an actress it’s brilliant to play. It’s really juicy stuff.”

She also said: “It was great, it was like therapy. Putting yourself in that position, how sick you would feel.

“The writers have just been phenomenal. I’m chuffed to bits. It’s such a treat to have this storyline.”

Catherine can relate to Eva’s character though as she got her own revenge on a cheating boyfriend when she was younger.

She told the Loose Women about her revenge: “It happened to me when I was younger. I might have poured a little bit of nail varnish into somebody’s Xbox.

“That was as far as it went and then I walked – Eva is a bit more extreme.

“It felt good. He loved the box more than me.

“I was really young, very naive and I thought we were exclusive and he obviously had other ideas.”

Eva goes a lot further and starts off by buying a brand new car on Aidan’s credit card, before working hard on a plan to ruin his life and leave him with nothing.

Wow, we know not to mess with Eva!
