It’s the time of the year that we all tend to over-indulge and Corrie’s Catherine Tyldesley admits she is no different at Christmastime.
But instead of mountains and mountains of food (all topped off with a few tubs of Quality Street) the actress says her treat is just a little bit of Christmas pudding.
Having slimmed down from a size 22, the actress who plays Eva Price on the ITV show, says she prefers to remain super strict with her diet all year round to maintain her size 10 figure.
And that means strictly NO desserts!
But by the time Christmas comes around she caves and allows herself a little bit of the festive pud.
“I love Christmas pudding. I don’t normally eat desserts so it’s the one time of year that I treat myself,” she told Daily Mail.
Catherine has lost a huge amount of weight since her late teenage years – when at one point she fitted into size 22 clothes.
The actress admits she’s become a bit of a health and fitness fanatic, working out regularly and keeping a strict diet to stop her from piling on the pounds again.
But a bit of cheating over Christmas isn’t going to hurt and she says that even if there wasn’t a Christmas roast on the menu, she’d still make sure she had something naughty on the big day.
“I’d have pizza because I’d still want to treat myself and I love pizza,” she admitted.
“My favourite topping would be meat feast, the whole hog. If I’m going to do it, I’m going to do it well!”
But if you think Catherine’s life sounds virtuous enough you’ll be surprised to hear that she wants to be even healthier in 2018.
Talking about new year resolutions she said, “It’s always the same for me – to be happier and healthier than the year before.”
Best of luck, Cath!
