Christmas is second only to Valentine’s Day as the perfect time of year to pop the question – perhaps all that magic makes it less likely the answer will be a ‘no’.
That wasn’t something Corrie star Shayne Ward had to worry about though – just a quick glance at his Instagram and it’s obvious how loved up he and baby mamma Sophie Austin are.
So naturally the answer was ‘yes’ when he popped the question over the holidays.
And hats off to Shayne for how he announced the news – just a simple and elegant shot of his betrothed’s hand, wearing the – very lovely, we should point out – sparkler.
The pic on Instagram was simply captioned: #MrsWardtobe.
The actor couple became proud parents to their first child Willow May last December.
Former X Factor champ Shayne took to fatherhood like a duck to water.
He gushed to the Daily Mirror: “It is my sole purpose. Everything else in life is a hobby.”
He added: “People say I was born to sing, but I think I was born to be a dad.”
