Corrie favourite wants a return to Weatherfield

She would like to return to cause more torment

A Coronation Street favourite is pining for a return to the ITV soap and it looks like it could become a reality.

Wendi Peters appeared on daytime TV show Lorraine and told host Helen Skelton that she would love for Cilla Battersby-Brown to return to Weatherfield.

Wendi first appeared on Corrie in 2003 and her gobby character soon became a fan favourite.

She has now said that it is “never say never” about a return and would love to see her back causing trouble for her family and neighbours on the street.

Wendi said: “She brings back such happy memories, but she just looked a bugger didn’t she – she was awful. But she was fun.”

“The thing is, it’s lucky that the door is open.

“Fiz and Ches are still there.”

Wendi continued: “I’m a firm believer in never say never… you never know what is around the corner.

“I went back a couple of years ago for a few weeks and I had a lovely time.”

“I love doing what I do now, to be honest.”

What is for certain, Corrie is a much brighter place with Cilla around though her family there might think otherwise.
