Corrie’s Kate Connor doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to love.
Her last girlfriend, Caz Hammond, turned out to be a complete psycho stalker who ended up faking her own death to get Maria Connor locked up.

And Kate’s dalliance with Sophie Webster hasn’t really led anywhere, with the pair denying their attraction and just staying friends.
But speaking to Radio Times, actress Faye Brookes has revealed that there’s a new love interest coming Kate’s way, and it’s set to “shock people”.
“Trust me, it’s not quiet any more,” she told the publication.
“We are ready to go for this year! I’m not going to give too much away, but there’s definitely something coming on the love life front.
“It’s going to shock people. I don’t think fans will guess who it is and neither will Kate, but I’m really excited and want to embrace it – and hopefully this time it will be for the long haul.”
We wonder who it could be?
If it’s someone already on the Street and it’s not Sophie – something which Faye confirmed back at the National Television Awards in January – then it has to be someone who’s yet to come out.
Is there a woman in Weatherfield who’s confused about her sexuality? Or is it someone new and fresh coming in to sweep Kate off her feet?
Thankfully, in real life, things are far less complicated for Faye. She’s happily loved up with singer Gareth Gates.

But despite their relationship bliss, Faye has revealed she’s in no hurry to get married.
“We’ve talked about marriage and that day will come, I’m sure of it, but that’s for now,” she recently told Fabulous magazine.
“Every Valentine’s Day the conversation comes up. I’m like ‘Listen, I’m totally career-driven’ and he knows that.”
And her career sure is going from strength to strength.
