Corrie’s Kym Marsh says goodbye to “beautiful friend” who passed away aged 31

Soap star Kym Marsh has said a final farewell to her “beautiful friend” who died last month.

The Coronation Street actress, 42, took to Instagram to share an emotional tribute to celebrity hairdresser Scott Meadows, who she hailed as a “legend” and said was “a bright light in this world”.

Posting a snap of an order of service leaflet, Kym said: “Today we said goodbye to our beautiful friend Scott meadows.

“I am so proud to have known him and to call him my friend. He was a legend and a bright light in this world.

“That light may have gone out but he will continue to be a shining star. Scott we love you, we miss you and we will forever be the poorer for you not being here. Sleep tight sweetheart.”

Fans rushed to the comments to offer condolences for the grieving actress.

One said: “I still can’t believe it. I hope it was a lovely service. He was one of the best. Talented and lovely.”

Another told her: “So sorry to hear this, Kym.”

A third wrote: “So sorry for your loss, @marsh_kym.”

Scott, who was just 31 when he died, worked at the House of Evelyn salon in Manchester.

He’d enjoyed massive success as a hairdresser, having worked with stars including Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan and featured on ITV reality show The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

According to a report in the Manchester Evening News, Scott died suddenly at the end of March.

Writing on Instagram at the time, Kym said Scott would be “The MOST fabulous angel in heaven” and thanked him for “the wonderful memories”.

She said: “No words will ever describe how much I will miss you. Scott you are loved by so many. Always the life and soul of every party, you lit up every room.

“Your laugh was so infectious, everyone wanted to be around you. I feel very lucky to have been able to call you my friend. Thank you Scott, for your friendship, for the laughter and for the wonderful memories.

“I hope you’re showing those angels how it’s done kiddo! The MOST fabulous angel in heaven. Sleep tight sweetheart. Love you always. Your Gail.”
