Georgia Taylor hints at possible return of Les and Janice Battersby to Coronation Street

Are the brashest Weatherfield residents ever coming back to the cobbles?

Coronation Street’s Georgia Taylor has revealed her on-screen parents Les and Janice Battersby could be making a sensational return to the soap.

Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning, the Toyah Battersby actress told them it would be “dynamic” if the pair were to return.

Les and Janice first hit the cobbles with their daughters Leanne and Toyah in 1997, and immediately scared half the neighbours – with Percy Sugden even leaving to go and live in a retirement home to get away from Les!

Actor Bruce Jones (Les) left the soap in 2007, with his character supposedly going off on tour as a roadie.

And Vicky Entwhistle (Janice) stuck around until 2011, when she left with her then boyfriend, Trevor Dean, to go travelling.

Have they met up off-screen and got back together? And could they return now that both of their daughters are back in Weatherfield and living together?

Whilst Georgia revealed to Holly and Phil there were currently no plans to bring her parents back into the show, we’d have to “wait and see” what the future holds for the family.

“They’re just focusing on the relationship with the sisters at the moment, but we’ll wait and see,” she said.

And with Leanne about to find out about Toyah’s relationship with Peter, things between the siblings could get very messy indeed – what better time for Les and Janice to arrive and sort their daughters out?

Georgia herself returned to the show at Christmas after 13 years away. Speaking to the hosts about her comeback, she said:

“Jane Danson’s (Leanne) one of my best friends, so she was such a big pull for me and a reason for me to go back, and I get to work with her every day which is just heaven.”

As Toyah battles her own IVF struggles, and the fact Peter doesn’t want any more kids, Leanne’s about to drop her baby that she’s pretending is Nick’s but is actually Steve’s.

There’s so much going on for these girls, we reckon they need their mum and dad by their sides to help them through. Although when those parents are Les and Janice it might be more of a hindrance than a help!
