Coronation Street confirms Fiz Stape ‘exit’ plot

No, she's not headed Down Under!

Coronation Street has confirmed Fiz Stape’s exit storyline will air next week as actress Jennie McAlpine takes some time out from Weatherfield to head to Australia.

Of course we know she’s already been there for her appearance on this year’s I’m A Celebrity, but because Corrie is filmed so far in advance, Jennie will only leave our screens next week.

An upcoming storyline will see Fiz realise that she’ll have to spend Christmas away from Tyrone and their two girls, Ruby and Hope.

Next Monday Fiz will receive the news that her mum, Cilla, has had a nasty fall and needs her help over Christmas.

The shocking news comes just after Fiz and Ty have made up after an epic row over the girls – both accusing the other of favouritism.

The couple have had a rocky time recently since Fiz was given £2000 by a well-wisher who wanted to pass it on to Hope.

Instead of sharing the money with the rest of the unemployed factory workers, Fiz decided to keep it and treat her family – much to the wrath of Beth Sutherland.

She was left furious when Tyrone went and spent the cash on a new van, eventually telling him he had to sell it only for Todd Grimshaw to set fire to it believing it to be nemesis Aidan Connor’s.

And it looks like Fiz and Ty may have made a very dangerous enemy as they find their trampoline on fire in tonight’s second episode.

But despite the tension between the pair, they make it up before Fiz has to head off.

Fiz is gutted she’ll be away from her little clan for the festive period, but Ty, Hope and Ruby surprise her with an early Christmas to make up for her missing it.

The girls will even perform a touching rendition of Little Donkey, which will surely have Fiz reaching for the tissues.

Jennie finished a brilliant fourth place in this year’s offering of the jungle-based reality show.

Her departure caused a lot of controversy among fans who thought it should be former Hollyoaks actor, Jamie Lomas, getting the boot instead of Jennie.

She also raised some eyebrows when her hubby arrived in the camp for a quick visit – leaving fans sure they’d had a fumble in the jungle as they disappeared together.

Jennie will be back on screen as Fiz in early 2018.
