There are few things more upsetting than the idea of your parents having sex – so pity poor Shane Nolan, who says he actually HEARD his mum doing it!
Coleen Nolan and Shane Richie’s son has spoken out to joke that he is “still scarred” from the noises coming out of his parents’ room before they divorced.
In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, the 30-year-old hopeful-musician said: “I’m still scarred by it. I had to take my little brother downstairs. I was a kid, but old enough to know what was going on.”
His mum, who is a, er, Loose Woman, was married to EastEnders actor Shane, 54, from 1990 until 1999. They are also parents to Jake, 26.
Coleen went on to marry musician Ray Fensome. They had daughter, Ciara, 17, but split this year.
Shane – who is best known as Alfie Moon on the BBC soap – married Christie Goddard in 2007 and had three more children.
In the revealing chat, Shane Junior also described how embarrassing it is when his mum talks about him on Loose Women.
In particular, when the 53-year-old told viewers about the time when her son accidentally called her during sex with his girlfriend.
She told the other panellists on the lunchtime show: “Let me say I listened for four and a half minutes. Four and a half minutes. I was dead impressed. I hope he’s not watching this.”
Shane said: “I was like ‘Whoa, that’s private!’ Now she rings me before she says anything on TV. I have to be very careful about what I tell my mum.”
It’s clear that Shane has forgiven his chatty mum, though, and last year he paid tribute to the former-singer.
Beside a sweet selfie together, he described Coleen as: “Someone who is not only a mother, a friend, an inspiration, but someone who is just an incredible generous and downright sarcastic human being.”
Although he did also publicly warn her, earlier this year, to stop being “creepy” with his girlfriends.
He said: “My mum once pulled me away from kissing my girlfriend at the time, so she could hug me. She used to say to my girlfriends, ‘He will never be fully yours’.”
He added: “It needs to stop. It’s creepy.”
They’re clearly a very, um, close family. Let’s all invest in some earplugs, shall we?
