Claudia Winkleman reveals why she’ll never ditch her famous fringe

Sorry if you're not a fan, but the bangs are going nowhere!

She’s become just as famous for her thick cut fringe and heavy eye make-up as she is for her presenting.

And Strictly Come Dancing’s Claudia Winkleman has said she won’t be changing her trademark appearance any time soon!

The 45-year-old has said after years of playing around with her look she’s found one she’s happy with it – and it doesn’t matter what anybody else may think.

Chatting to OK! mag about her famous fringe, Claudia said: “I can’t really imagine life without it. And I don’t know what’s under there – it could be squirrels, it could be beavers.”

Er, we hope not! That would be quite a surprise!

Explaining her signature look, the TV star described her personal style as “old lady goth-slash-Steve Tyler” – so, in other words, rather unique!

“I’m 45. I’m done,” she added. “I’ve found my look – white lipstick, black eyeliner, black clothes.”

Claudia must be used to questions about her fringe by now, though; even after all these years it’s still a talking point among Strictly viewers each week – with both good and bad comments. Naturally.

Those in favour of her bangs include one fan who tweeted: “Wish I could rock a fringe the way Claudia Winkleman does.”

While others have begged her to visit the hairdresser, with one saying: “You’d think with all the dosh Claudia gets she’d be able to afford to get her fringe cut…”

Claudia, meanwhile, has always found the focus on her fringe somewhat amusing.

She even said in an old interview with The Telegraph people were more interested in her hair than her university degree!

Of course, that means we’ve picked up lots of lovely fringe anecdotes from Claudia over the years, including the fact she’s never chopped her own bangs and the longer the better!

Claudia once told Get The Gloss website: “My favourite hair moments are when my fringe is sort of down to the floor, I love it.

“I know it looks a bit weird but I’ve got such bad eyesight anyway that really it doesn’t make any difference, so I like a nose-skimming fringe.

“The worst moment was when I once had it cut too short and I looked like Dora the Explorer.”

We shouldn’t chuckle at that description…
