Actress Claire Sweeney has hit back at claims she was miserable after gaining two stone in weight.
Claire posted the image of a magazine's cover to her social media accounts, with the front page displaying a headline which read: "Claire's weight misery."
It added: "Two stone heavier after time abroad."
Replying with the hashtag "#nomisery", Claire slammed the fat-shaming story. She said: "I cannot believe that in this day and age, mags are still fat shaming."
I've been in the business long enough to grow a thick skin, however I worry about those who may not be so strong.
She continued: "I've been in the business long enough to grow a thick skin, however I worry about those in the public eye who may not be so strong."
Claire's friends were quick to respond to her post, with TV presenter Gaby Roslin telling Claire she was "so sorry".
Gaby said: "Utterly disgusting. Sending my love to you @clairesweeney and I want to know why this is still 'allowed'. I am sorry that anyone is ever spoken about like this."
Claire, who last year lost four stone, also retweeted a post from another friend, which said: "I'm missing something here? I was with my lovely friend @clairesweeney last Saturday she looks amazing."
He added: "You can see from the photo it's just lies."
Fans were quick to rush to Claire's defence too, with one tweeting: "Claire looks absolutely stunning. There's more to life than people printing out rubbish. What's important is having a good heart. Please ignore the haters."
The kind fan added: "You are enough. You are awesome and don't ever forget that!"
Another called the article "grim" and said they wouldn't even use it to "line the cat litter tray".
