Chris Hughes hits back at troll who called girlfriend Jesy Nelson ‘ugly’

What a gent!

Chris Hughes has leapt to the defence of his girlfriend Jesy Nelson after she was targeted by a troll. The cruel comment came after she recently opened up about being “the fat one” in Little Mix.

The gorgeous girl band star and her boyfriend had been enjoying a romantic spa break at Champneys Tring and posted a picture of themselves snugged up together in bed.

Chris said: “So today we went to the cinema, but didn’t watch a film, we just bought chocolate and sweets instead.”

Jesy quickly commented on the post, calling Chris her “piglet” and adding a red love heart emoji.

While many of the couple’s fans called the picture “cute”, one posted a nasty comment that caught the former Love Island star’s eye.

The troll said: “I would rather pay cinemas prices than be in bed next to that. Sooooooo much make-up, but she was always the ugly one.”

He added: “Some of the people that follow me and give my girlfriend abuse are actually sickening. Your lives must be so miserable, that you can only feel for them.”

Jesy recently revealed that she was “made” to hate herself after excessive trolling.

Posting a throwback picture of herself to Instagram, she said: “Up until now I hated her not because she’d ever done anything bad but because I was made to hate her by endless amounts of trolling.”

The singer has been making a BBC Three documentary provisionally titled Jesy Nelson: My Story, looking at how trolling and body-shaming affects mental health.

Trolls aside, Chris and Jesy seem happier than ever, with the couple moving in together back in July.

Opening up to The Mirror, Chris revealed: “Do you know what, our schedules aren’t too bad. We obviously live together now, which I think everyone knows. But we fit around it.”

He added: “Nobody is ever too busy for love, that’s what they say.”

The couple went Instagram official with their love back in February.
