Cheryl has revealed her favourite name for baby boy

‘Mum-to-be’ went public with bump this week

| Updated:

It seems, despite the immense interest in whether she is with child, Cheryl is determined to keep mum about her condition – unless you happen to be her nearest and dearest.

However, after she stepped out with beau Liam Payne earlier this week, proudly revealing a bump, we can all safely assume it wasn’t just the result of overdoing it down Pizza Express of late.

Hurrah and all that!

Now everyone is satisfied the former X Factor beauty is expecting the patter of tiny feet, we’ve moved on to digging into the detail.

Like, for example, what would the happy couple call a mini Cheryl or Liam?

Well, if Cheryl births a boy and has her say, we know her name preference.

In an interview two years after she split from first husband, cheating football player Ashley Cole, the ex-Girls Aloud star revealed: “Of course I’ve thought about baby names a million times.

“I like Alfie for a little boy.”

Alfie? We approve! Never had Chezza down as an EastEnders fan, though.

She also told GQ magazine: “I love kids, I’m obsessed with babies.

“I know that’s what I was put on the Earth to do – to be a mother.”

Her bestie Kimberley Walsh certainly agrees.

Speaking a couple of months ago – and adding fuel to the then-mounting speculation that Cheryl is expecting – she gushed: “She’ll be a brilliant mum. She has loads of nieces and nephews, so she’s used to the madness of children.”

It was reported this week that Cheryl and Liam had only recently confirmed the happy news to their friends and family on November 29.

A source told The Sun: “Cheryl has told close friends and family the very exciting news that she is expecting her first child.

“She is absolutely ecstatic.

“She doesn’t want to speak publicly about it for a number of reasons, particularly due to some of the battles she has gone through in her personal life in recent years.

“Obviously everyone wants to hear it come from her but she is keeping quiet for now.

“At the Fayre of St James she was proudly showing off her bump and telling everyone how happy she was.”

Aww, this is almost too much excitement for us to take!
