Cheryl Baker reportedly slams Dancing On Ice contestants’ pay

The Bucks Fizz star feels a bit flat about her pay-cheque

Cheryl Baker hasn’t minced her words when it comes to talking about how much money Dancing on Ice producers are paying her to take part in the show – not enough, apparently.

The Daily Star newspaper reports that the Bucks Fizz singer has complained it isn’t nearly enough for the amount of effort contestants taking part in the hit ITV show have to put in.

Cheryl reportedly said: “The money is not great in my opinion. I’ve been training six days a week since October. If you make it to the final it is a six-month project, so the money isn’t much in comparison.

“In this industry you can go months at a time without a job though. You can’t turn the work down. I have to work. I have a mortgage and bills to pay. I’m not a saver, I never have been.”

Stars are generally tight-lipped about exactly how much they are paid to appear on reality TV shows, but depending on the show they can bank anywhere between £10,000 to half a million.

Payments on Dancing on Ice are believed to start at £20,000 and reach up to £100,000 for the most sought after contestants.

I’m A Celebrity’s jungle inhabitants can demand up to £250,000 while according to reports Celebrity Big Brother tops the reality TV employers list by offering anything up to £500,000 for celebrities to move into the house for a few weeks.

Just because she doesn’t think the pay isn’t up to scratch, doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to win.

She’s even moved skating partner Dan Whiston into the home she shares with understanding husband Steve Stroud, so they can get as much practise of their routines in as possible.

She told OK! magazine: “It gives us as much time to practice off the ice as possible. It’s great, I absolutely adore him.
