Chanelle Hayes and Olly Murs found themselves in a bizarre Twitter spat last night.

It kicked off when former Big Brother star Chanelle said she couldn’t understand how popstar Olly had landed a job on The Voice as a coach.

Ouch.

She tweeted while watching last night’s episode: “How is Olly Murs a judge on a talent show though?? One of the most annoying people on the planet, can’t even sing himself?? How is he so liked??????? (sic).”

A later tweet said: “I find him annoying, smug, mediocre singer at best, self-important and dislikeable (sic).”

Well, Olly was quick to fire back with a tweet of his own.

He asked fans: “Can someone please tell me who this lady is??! But honestly thanks for watching e love your support.”

Chanelle simply replied: “Anytime Olly!”

It seems that Chanelle’s tweet struck a chord with Olly’s fans, however, and she was subjected to quite a lot of angry tweets from them.

One tweeted at her: “What talent do you have to get famous?! Non. You got lucky.”

Another said: “I think his album sales and popularity speak for themselves, he is a kind decent guy with bags of talent and personality and got to where he is today because of this, unlike the people who try to become famous on Big Brother because they have no talent or personality.”

Chanelle later updated her timeline to say: “Omg the Olly crew are out. Soz not soz (sic).”

And, showing she wasn’t taking any of the remarks to heart, Chanelle also quipped: “My talent seems to be giving Olly Murs fans rage on a Saturday evening for not being a fan of his. I’d say I’m pretty strong in my field.”

Chanelle entered into conversation with many fans who contacted her, including one who pointed out that Olly’s just taking the work opportunities he is offered.

She replied: “That’s absolutely true he’s taken what he’s been offered as anyone would. Just dunno how he got offered it in the first place is my point.”
