Chanelle Hayes defiantly shares ‘unflattering’ pics from family holiday

She's sick of seeing "perfect" pics

Chanelle Hayes has shared a bold message about body confidence by embracing what she sees as her “flaws”.

The Big Brother star put a very honest post on Instagram, highlighting her “double chin” and “fivehead” and insisted she is sick of seeing “perfect” images on social media.

Chanelle shared snaps from a recent holiday with her sons Blakely, nine, and Frankie, one, and wrote: “So these pictures aren’t actually very nice of me. Double chin in one, biggest forehead in Yorkshire on the other. But I was loving life in both these pictures and I’m (attempting) to embrace my flaws and post them anyway.”

So these pictures aren’t actually very nice of me. Double chin in one, biggest forehead in Yorkshire on the other. But I was loving life in both these pictures and I’m (attempting) to embrace my flaws and post them anyway. I’m not one of those people who takes pictures specifically for my Instagram with fancy backgrounds or where everything looks 100% perfect. Because I see those pics all the time and it grates on me… NOBODY has a perfect life so I don’t understand why people only ever portray themselves that way. It’s bloody depressing! So enjoy these picS of my double chin and fivehead because I was enjoying life when I took them! #reallife #singlemom #parenting #family #singleparent #weightloss #weightgain #love #mumlife #mumofboys #holiday #summer

The mum-of-two continued by saying she finds it “depressing” that so many images shared on Instagram portray a “perfect” life.

The 31-year-old added: “I’m not one of those people who takes pictures specifically for my Instagram with fancy backgrounds or where everything looks 100 per cent perfect. Because I see those pics all the time and it grates on me… nobody has a perfect life so I don’t understand why people only ever portray themselves that way.”

“It’s (beeping) depressing! So enjoy these pics of my double chin and fivehead because I was enjoying life when I took them!”

She included the hashtags: “#reallife #singlemom #parenting #family #singleparent #weightloss #weightgain #love #mumlife #mumofboys #holiday #summer.”

Her message about body image comes after she has been on a mission to lose weight this year.

Sorry about the “before” pic quality, I had to really zoom in to chop off everyone else. Comparing these two pics makes me feel positive…. Here’s the stats: November 2018 vs May 2019 Size 18-20 outfit vs size 12 outfit 15st 6lbs vs 11st 13lbs 84 RHR vs 54 RHR In losing all that excess weight I have gained more confidence and happiness. If I had been EXTREME with my eating choices I am sure I could be much smaller and lighter than I am now however I have been working HARDDDD at keeping (and increasing) my muscle mass. Over the rest of this year I will be cutting down my body fat slowly and steadily. I want to make a point that I am choosing to take my time in order to keep my muscle. I want to lose FAT, not muscle, not bone mass density, just fat. This is a long term change I am making so that I can prosper in the long term results. There are no quick fixes. Believe me – I’ve tried everything! Hard work, perseverance, consistency and dedication are KEY. Hopefully at the end of the year I will be able to make the second picture a “during” photo as I will have a new “after”. #weightloss #weightlossjourney #weightlifting #lift #girlswholift #fitnessmotivation #healthylifestyle #mummy #challenge #beforeandafter

Chanelle admits her weight has yo-yoed over the years, from a size 8 to 18, but she insists it’s now about feeling healthy, rather than how she looks.

While on holiday last week, she admitted she’s had a “bad six weeks” of diet and has gone from a size 12 to a 14. But the reality star added that she is not going to be “hard” on herself about it.

Not been on social media all week apart from some “red herrings” on my story about being at home. I’ve been away with the boys but didn’t want to say because I didn’t want any pap shots out and for some reason they seem to love following me around even on holiday and humiliating me with bad angles in a bikini. Hopefully none will appear and I will be so disappointed if they do as we just wanted a private family time away. I have had a really bad 6 weeks diet and nutrition wise. Totally fallen off the bandwagon and have gone from the size 12 I got down to back upto a 14. I can also tell in myself that I feel softer and have lost definition which is such a shame. When I am home I need to get back on it big time as I can feel with every pound gained, a little confidence has been lost. It’s a marathon not a sprint so I’m not being hard on myself, just ready to get back to how well I was doing and focussing back on my health. That said, we’ve had such a lovely holiday and the boys have loved every minute of it. Sorry about the pic (Blakely says I look like a man here) but running around after these two monsters didn’t leave me much time for selfies so this was my only one lol. Splashing, discos, slides, ice creams defo took priority over any pics this last week for sure. Memories over social media any day. Definitely need a holiday with a book on my own now 😂😂. What’s everybody else been upto?? #singlemom #singleparent #summer #summerholidays #holiday #holidays #parenting #kids #health #lifestyle #weightloss
