Ceon Broughton ‘blamed Louella Fletcher-Michie’s parents for her death’

The trial over Louella's tragic death continues

The rapper who dated Holby City star John Michie’s daughter, Louella Fletcher-Michie, has ‘blamed’ John and his wife for her death, a court heard today.

Louella died of a drugs overdose at Bestival festival in 2017, while with rapper Ceon Broughton.

Ceon claims he would have carried the 24-year-old to a medical tent but Louella’s dad, John, and her mum, Carol, told him on the phone to get help from someone in a high vis jacket.

Ceon, 29, denied giving drugs to Louella and said that he did not take anything at the festival in Dorset.

Jurors heard he was serving a suspended sentence at the time, which prosecutors allege is why he did not seek aid for his dying girlfriend.

During his first police interview, Ceon said he did not know how Louella had acquired drug 2C-P.

Ex-Coronation Street star John, 62, watched with his family from the public gallery Friday afternoon (15 February) as the court heard details of Ceon’s account.

In an interview at Poole station, the day after Louella’s death, Ceon told Police: “I think she bought something, she bought LSD or something.

“We was just having fun and just chilling in the woods. She was tripping and then she said she had acid. She was fine at first, then it kind of spiralled.

“I called her mum and she told me to get to someone in high vis. I was trying to calm [Louella] down, she was rolling around in stinging nettles and stuff.

“Her mum and dad said they were on their way. I wanted to carry her, I wanted to carry her myself, but they told me to get help. I would have carried her myself.”

The court also heard that blood samples taken from Ceon after the incident revealed he had MDMA, ketamine, diazepam, alprazolam and 2C-P in his system.

Prosecutor William Mousley QC claimed that Ceon could have saved Louella if he had got medical help, adding that he did not as he didn’t want to be arrested as he was serving a suspended sentence and would likely be jailed.

Ceon denies manslaughter and supplying class A drugs.

The trial continues.
