Catherine Tyldesley has her Christmas tree and decorations up already

She doesn't care what people think!

There are 41 more days to go until Christmas, but former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley is ready to start celebrating now.

The keen Eva Price actress has already got her tree and decorations up – and Cath’s not bothered by any criticism suggesting her festive preparations are premature.

Sharing images of her living room and a staircase festooned with garlands, lights and baubles on Instagram, she told her 471,000 followers: “I don’t care that we’re early!”

A ‘thrilled to bits’ Catherine continued: “I’m obsessed with Christmas!”

The 35-year-old also noted in the images’ caption her family always enjoy having a large Christmas tree which son Alfie helps decorate.

Fans were split on whether Catherine was right in busting out the Crimbo knick-knacks in November, with passionate arguments from both sides.

“It’s not early,” one person commented succinctly.

“My wife is putting ours up this weekend, never too early!” added another.

A third remarked: “It’s beautiful, and never too early. I’m super jealous though as my hubby won’t let me put ours up.”

One commenter was particularly strident about the conventions of when it is appropriate to start the Christmas fun.

“I put mine up Sunday, couldn’t give a toss what anyone else thinks,” they said.

“When they start paying my bills then they can dictate to me when and what I do in my house.”

Others noted they are already marking the time of year in different way, too.

A fan said: “Had Christmas songs on in the car for a month already!”

And another reasoned: “It goes so quick so why not enjoy it a bit longer. Especially if you have young children who look forward to it.”

But some fans obviously believe Yuletide means Yuletide.

“12 days of Christmas not 12 weeks lol,” laughed one.

“Far too early for that. That’s mad,” said another.

A third agreed: “Way too early all wrong lol.”

What do you reckon? Has Cath got it right or wrong with her Christmas decorations?
