Presenter Caroline Flack broke off her engagement to CBB star Andrew Brady only last week and appeared to be struggling during moments of filming, even warning one of the couples: “Don’t rush into anything!”

The 38-year-old star became engaged to Andrew after just three months and has been open about her heartbreak since their split.

During the final, viewers noted that she seemed to be struggling.

One wrote: “Was she emotional when talking about finding love. I thought she was going to break down, bless her, I cried for her.”

Another added: “Not a fan of caroline flack, but you gotta hand it to her… her engagement has fallen apart whilst filming the series and she’s still managed to host a programme all about finding love. I mean the pay check helps #loveisland”.

A third wrote: “When @carolineflack1 got emotional talking about the summer of love , ups n downs .. wanted to hug her .. she’s smiled & talked about love whilst dealing with [bleep] in her own life .. respect 👌🏻🙌 #loveisland”.

She seemed to reference her own experience, too, while interviewing runners-up, Laura Anderson and Paul Knops, warning them: “Just don’t rush anything!” She then laughed.

Fans on Twitter were divided, with some thinking it was a little hypocritical.

One tweeted: “How can Caroline flack say ‘just don’t rush anything’ when she got engaged after 3 months of seeing someone and is now single again 😂😩😩 #loveisland”.

Others were more supportive, writing: “Shout out to @carolineflack1 she actually deserves way more credit for being so good at her job & remaining so professional through out the whole show despite what’s been going on in her personal life 🙌🏼🙌🏼 PLUS HAD LOOKED SO 🔥 ALL SERIES #loveisland”.

While the former X Factor host has insisted she is looking to the future, saying: “Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. That’s life. I don’t fear being single at all,” the former Apprentice star issued a heartbroken statement about the split.

He wrote: “I believe stories, half truths and lies have been circulated in the media by various parties and are to a large extent inaccurate. This was at times before and during my relationship with Caroline.

“But I do not believe Caroline was party to this. One ex-girlfriend and another girl have chosen to go to the press to divulge stories that were embellished. For the record I saw one for a few dates and one for a number of weeks.

“Lack of trust was a major factor in my decision to end these short relationships. We were deeply in love, as proven by the level of commitment from the early stage of our relationship.”

We love you Caroline, and well done for being such a pro. We wouldn’t be nearly so strong as you’ve been.
