Caroline Flack answers burning question about Love Island’s future

It has many celebrity fans, but what about a celebrity version?

It’s a show that is uniting the nation, with a host of celebs including Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and Adele among the long list of Love Island fans – even Jeremy Corbyn urged us to vote for Marcel.

Unfortunately, according to host Caroline Flack, we won’t see any of them jetting to Mallorca to have a bash at finding love in the villa themselves, as she appears to confirm the celebrity version won’t be making a comeback any time soon.

Speaking to OK! Online, Caroline is confident that the show’s ongoing rise in popularity is down to the fact that the contestants start off as anonymous faces.

She told OK!: “No, I think this is one of the rare reality shows where it actually works better with people we don’t know.

“You get to know them and become invested in the show.”

Caroline often has the unenviable task of heading into the villa to make shock announcements, or bringing news that the islanders definitely do not want to hear.

She admits to getting attached to the contestants, and is emotional through their ups and downs, adding:

“[I get upset by the break ups], definitely. It’s like one big family so I feel I’m a part of it. It’s like seeing your friends break up – never nice.”

The Celebrity editions featured the likes of Bianca Gascoigne, Calum Best, Liz McClarnon and Fran Cosgrove – the kind of people you would expect to find on a 2005 reality show (remember Rebecca Loos?).

This series has been the most shocking yet, with more and more twists and turns as the weeks go on.

Viewers have been captivated by the drama, including last night’s explosive argument between new man Theo and island villain Jonny.

The show also saw former TOWIE star Georgia Harrison enter the villa, dividing the nation as she picked Amber’s newly ‘official’ boyfriend Kem to couple up with, which needless to say did not go down well with the 20-year-old dancer.

After the shocking recoupling, a fuming Amber told Georgia ‘not to speak to her’, before shouting “He’s my boyfriend, you picked my boyfriend!”
