If there’s anyone able to prove age is just a number, it’s former Countdown star Carol Vorderman.
The maths whiz, 58, took to Twitter this week to share an inspiring message and show off her toned figure in nothing but her knickers and a vest.
She posted two snaps of herself after working up a sweat and referenced 46-year-old rowing champ James Cracknell, who became the oldest person ever to win the Oxford vs Cambridge Boat Race over the weekend.

Carol wrote alongside the snaps: “Totally agree with @jamescracknell #BoatRace keep on moving no matter what your age #Mindandbody.”
The post included a photo of Carol looking cool in her sunglasses as she flew a plane.
She continued: “Eg. gym at home a couple of summers ago 56yo #swimming #weights #ScruffyHomeGymGear… and flying my plane.”
Carol concluded by telling her followers she treats every day like a “bonus” and lives them all “with a great big grin”.
Her adoring fans rushed to comment on the snaps.
One fan simply wrote: “Proper woman.”
Another said: “Looking good, Carol.”
Someone else wrote: “You don’t look that scruffy to me, Carol. You look fabulous.”
A fourth replied: “I love how you get to fly your plane all the time. It’s really amazing.”

Carol is living the life she wants to live without worrying too much about what other people think.
Last month, she revealed she has no interest in settling down and still enjoys a very active love life with people she referred to as “special friends”.

Carol told the Daily Mail: “I get up to a lot of mischief. I have a number of special friends – but I’m not doing anything wrong. Everyone’s single.
“And yes, apart from one, they’re all younger than me.”
