“Rest In Peace Jean Vorderman. You will always be loved.”

TV presenter Carol Vorderman revealed in March that Jean had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

The former Loose Women panellist posted a message on Twitter: “A precious Mother’s Day x This wk Mum & I found out she has terminal cancer. She’s 88, beautiful inside and out & I love her beyond measure x”

Jean had previously had cancer three times.

Carol, 56, shared details of her third battle with the illness in 2015, when she underwent surgery.

“Mum is having her 3rd cancer op today but this op is minor compared to the previous ones thankfully,” she revealed at the time.

She continued: “Mum has had a 3lb ovarian tumour removed (miraculously it hadn’t spread) then she had kidney cancer so half of her right kidney was removed, this time it’s a pretty big malignant melonoma, but Mum says, ‘Goodness me, this is nothing. I’ll be in and out in no time’.”

In April, The TV presenter shared a beautiful and moving picture of herself with Jean on Twitter.

They were smiling at the camera, hugging.

Carol accompanied the picture with the words “a good day”.

She added: “Breakfast with Mum this morning……she’s saying hello to the world xx”.

Fans immediately raced to support Carol, sending fond wishes and messages of strength to the Countdown and I’m a Celeb’ star.

One simply posted: “Thinking of you all x”

Another added: “keep her close and spend has much time with her hun I did never regretted every moment with my mum” [sic]

Carol responded to them all, clearly feeling very moved by the love of her followers.

Each of them received a kiss as thanks from Carol to say thank you for taking the time to show love.

We’re sure all her fans will now be extending that same support at this difficult time.
