Obviously the location helps – it can’t fail to be a romantic shot when taken from the Rialto Bridge with the waterways of Venice in the background, right?

Carol’s hashtags and picture caption though suggests the break – which she had organised to celebrate her and Mark’s 10th anniversary of being together – had not been plain sailing in terms of actually happening.
‘Finally made it to Venice’ she wrote. ‘Have booked and had to cancel twice before due to (expletive) happening so third time lucky.’
She followed up the caption with the hastags #venice #hot #packed #dontcare #loveit@cassola21 #10thanniversary - leaving her followers in no doubt that the city was both very warm and very busy.
Carol announced her engagement to Mark back in 2008, and although they are still to make it down the aisle, she insisted in October last year the wedding would definitely be happening at some point.
Speaking to Best magazine, Carol said:
“Of course [the wedding is still on]! It’s definitely going to happen next year. Although, to be fair, I have said that for the last five or six years.”
She went on to explained that tying the knot was particularly significant for the pair, saying:
“Look seriously, it’s important to us – we’ve lost family this year, and that cemented that we want to be together and married.”
Although there has been no mention of wedding bells as she and Mark enjoy their Italian holiday, Carol hasn’t been shy about sharing just how much fun they are having, enticing her followers with snaps of their delicious meals, and nighttime entertainment.
Uploading a pic of a plate of spaghetti to her Instagram, Carol wrote: lunch with this view, with this chump. (Mark, we presume!)
Carol also revealed that the heatwave sweeping Europe had not missed out the Italian city, sharing a night shot of St Mark’s Square with musicians playing in the street, and a snap of their table laden with snacks and wine.
Her caption suggested that they were having a brilliant time regardless – even if it was all very spendy, busy and roasting hot!
‘Ok, it’s way too crowded, stupidly hot, unbelievably expensive but it’s absolutely essential because you can have midnight snacks in St Mark’s Square while listening to beautiful music from a brilliant quintet,’ she tweeted to her followers.

The past few years have not been all that easy for Carol, and this trip – along with another sunshine break in Spain a couple of weeks ago – was obviously well deserved and much needed – as well as recognition of her and Mark’s decade as a couple.
Back in February 2015, Carol revealed she had been having treatment for breast cancer, and had undergone radiotherapy and chemotherapy as well as having a mastectomy.
Isn’t it great to see her looking so well, happy, and loved up now?
