Miriam Margolyes has starred in more than 100 films, including the Harry Potter franchise (as Professor Pomona Sprout), and appeared on screen among Hollywood royalty like Dames Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.
But that doesn’t mean she’s above getting a telling off from the REAL Royal Family.

The actress, 77, appeared on The One Show last night (Wednesday 10 April) and revealed she once got put firmly in her place by none other than the Queen.
Chatting to Matt Baker and Alex Jones in the BBC studio, Miriam recalled the time she met the Queen and “behaved like an idiot”.
Introducing her guest, Alex explained: “You’re one of the busiest voices in showbiz. I mean the amount of audio books and ads you voice.”

To which Miriam replied: “You mean I talk too much?”
A laughing Alex added: “The Queen actually said that to you, though, didn’t she?”
Miriam then told the whole sorry tale to a shocked studio audience and fellow guest Nick Knowles.
She explained: “Yes, I was told to be quiet, by Her Majesty.”
She continued: “It’s so embarrassing. It was British book week at Buckingham Palace, and the Queen walks over to me and she says ‘and what do you do?’
“And instead of saying I’m an actress or I read stories, I said ‘I’m the best reader of stories in the whole world!'”
Miriam explained that “something snaps in you” when you meet royalty and revealed: “I was nervous and I behaved like an idiot!
“And The Queen clearly thought so because she looked at me and rolled her eyes.”
Miriam, who was awarded an OBE for her services to drama in 2002, also discussed her infamous role as the Cadbury’s Caramel bunny in the 90s.
She went on to talk about her upcoming BBC series Miriam’s Dead Good Adventure, the first episode of which sees her visit the Church of Perpetual Life in Hollywood.
Miriam has been with her partner Heather Sutherland for 50 years.
