Boyband Busted are due to sign copies of their album in the store, but there appearance has been thrown into doubt after the attack.

The group were nearly forced to cancel their sold out event, but it has been revealed the appearance will go on.

The male officer was attacked shortly after the store opened at 9am for the Black Friday sales.

He was taken to hospital with slash wounds to his neck, face and hand.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and he is being treated at a local hospital.

The reported thief became furious and stabbed an officer when he was asked what he was doing.

A West Yorkshire police insider said: "The suspect, a 36-year-old man from Leeds was detained by store staff and has been arrested in connection to the incident.

"The store is currently closed while the scene undergoes forensic examination."

Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne were due in the shop to meet fans at 5.30pm.

The store has now reopened again , with staff confirming the album signing will go ahead as planned.
