Brits are set to enjoy temperatures of 30C next week as a “Spanish plume” hits the UK.
As the continent basks in 40C heat, it’s been said that Britain will feel the benefit as hot air moves westwards.
Temperatures are set to soar to 30C next Wednesday (June 26) and Thursday (June 27) in some areas, meaning they could be the hottest days of the year so far.

However, the humidity and hot air means there’s still a risk of thunderstorms for some areas.
Met Office meteorologist Helen Roberts told The Sun Online: “Late Sunday and early Monday low pressure from the Atlantic will come in, bringing warnings of thundery showers.
“Another batch of showery rain is coming westwards on Tuesday, with heavy, thundery bursts. For the rest of the week, there will be increasing temperatures and warm air from the continent.
“It will get hotter towards the end of the week, but with an increased risk of thundery downpours at times.”
Meanwhile, director of digital weather company Weathertrending Sara Thornton said that southern and eastern parts of the UK will reach “the low 30s in some places”.
However, there’s a catch.
Sara told the publication that while the higher temperatures next week will finally bring us the summer we’ve all been waiting for, it “doesn’t mean the downpours are behind us”.
She added that the UK may experience “‘Spanish plumes’ of thundery weather”, as the heat and moisture in the atmosphere could potentially bring some “violent storms and flash flooding”.
According to the Met Office, thunderstorms will batter the country this weekend, especially on Sunday (June 23).
A yellow warning is in place for most of the UK from 12pm on Sunday to just before midnight.

The weather service warned that thunderstorms “may develop bringing torrential rain and lightning, with possible flooding and disruption to travel”.
It’s been said that there is a “small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life”.
