Bride slams pregnant bridesmaid for ‘stealing limelight’ by holding bump in wedding pics

She asked her friend to "stop holding" her belly in the pictures

A bride has slammed her bridesmaid for holding her baby bump in her wedding photos.

The anonymous woman took to Reddit to vent her frustration and accused her friend of ‘deliberately’ trying to steal the limelight on her special day.

The bride said she asked her pal to “stop holding her hands to show off her belly” and to just “pose like everyone else”.

The bridesmaid was seven months pregnant during the wedding.

The woman wrote: “In one of the first photos I noticed Kate was deliberately holding her belly so it was really obvious in the fabric of her dress (think basically every maternity shoot photo ever taken).

“I asked her to stop holding her hands to show off her belly and to just pose like everyone else. I had to remind her a few more times before we’d finished taking the wedding party photos.”

Her post caused a mixed reaction from fellow Reddit users, with many siding with the bride.

One person said: “Newsflash: The world doesn’t revolve around you – even when you are pregnant. Were the bridesmaids paying for the wedding photos? No, it was the bride. Therefore, the bride can make that final decision.”

Another wrote: “I agree with this except [the bride] asked her multiple times not to, and the bridesmaid posed like that anyway. At that point I’d say, bridesmaid was doing it deliberately.”

Others didn’t agree with the bride.

One wrote: “It is a natural standing position. Pregnant bellies are heavy, and sometimes you just need the extra support.

“I am just as pregnant as [the bride]’s friend, and if I’m standing I’m cradling my belly to take the extra pressure off of my back.”

Another said the bridesmaid didn’t “maliciously plan to take over the wedding by not hiding her pregnancy”.

They said: “Is it attention seeking to be visibly pregnant at someone else’s wedding?

“Because it seems like the bride (and a lot of commenters) are treating this girl like she maliciously planned to take over the wedding by not hiding her pregnancy, which is insane to me.”
