Aaron Armstrong, boyfriend of tragic Sophie Gradon, found dead

Love Island's Sophie passed away last month

The boyfriend of Love Island star Sophie Gradon, who passed away last month, has been found dead.

Aaron Armstrong had apparently posted a tribute to Sophie hours before his own tragic death.

Alongside a picture of the two of them together, the 25-year-old wrote: “Just wish I could cuddle you all day miss you so much man Sophie not a minute goes by with out your gorgeous smile being a picture in my mind everyday we spent together was so amazing I need them days back. I love you princess.[sic]”

Local police confirmed the body of a young man had been found at an address in Blyth, Northumberland.

A spokesperson told Th Sun: “At around 12.20pm today we received a report that a 25-year-old man had been found deceased at a property in Blyth.

“There is not believed to be any third party involvement and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.”

On Friday, he posted a tribute to his girlfriend following her funeral.

On July 2, grieving Aaron shared a devastating message about his heartbreak, where he told Sophie he would see her very soon, and he would live a life to make her proud.

Sophie, 32, who appeared on the second series of Love Island, and was a former Miss Great Britain, died on June 20.

The following day Northumbria Police issued a statement: “At about 8.27pm yesterday police attended a property in Medburn, Ponteland, where sadly a 32-year-old woman was found deceased.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A report will now be prepared for the coroner.”

A representative for Love Island said: “The whole ITV2 and Love Island team are profoundly saddened to hear the news about Sophie, and our deepest sympathies and thoughts go to her family and friends.”

The show’s host, Caroline Flack, said: “So very sad. Such a beautiful soul… such a beautiful smile… thoughts and love with friends and family.”

A statement posted to the Miss Great Britain Twitter account read: “Shocked beyond belief!!! RIP Sophie Gradon. Sending all our love to Sophie’s family at this incredibly sad time.”
