Boyband fans rocked by departure of one of its members

Will the band survive with a member down - or could we expect a return of an old face?

| Updated:

Fans of a certain boyband have been rocked by the news that it’s to lose one of its members in a shock shake up .

The revelation comes as the band prepares to relaunch themselves with a brand new sound.

But don’t worry folks, it’s not Take That!

It’s only Union J.

Phew!

As you may or may not know, it’s been a rather tumultuous year for the boys in Union J.

Last year,  after his stint in The I’m A Celeb jungle, George Shelley jumped ship when he was offered a job on Capital Radio – and his best mates weren’t happy in the slightest.

A few months later, George was replaced by Casey Johnson from multi-membered X Factor band Stereo Kicks and appeared to fit in perfectly.

Or so we thought.

It has now emerged that the handsome fella has been kicked out of the band because his face just doesn’t fit.

But don’t worry – from the sound of it, it was Jaymi, JJ or Josh who made the drastic decision – it was their new management.

“Management just didn’t think Casey was right for the band,” a source has told the Sun.  “They realised this over the past few months.”

“It was felt he could never really replace George and the band would be better off as a trio.”

We reckon it’s because Casey’s name began with the letter ‘C’, while the other member’s names start with the letter ‘J’ which works better for the band. Union J – geddit?

But does this mean that original member George could be heading back to the band?

Fans are speculating that he might just be.

Why? Well, just last week it was reported that George has been let go from Capital FM’s Breakfast Show, which means he will probably have a lot of spare time on his hands.

And even though the band weren’t too kind about him when he left the band in March 2016, Jaymi has since said that George is still one of his best mates and is always in touch with him.

So who knows, maybe this could be a hint that a reunion is very much on the cards.

The world can only hope.
