Hollyoaks boss pays tribute as star passes away

The show's producer revealed the sad news on Twitter

Hollyoaks boss Bryan Kirkwood has paid tribute to Terence Harvey who starred in the soap between 2004 and 2010.

The actor has died, although no details about how he passed away have been given out.

The official Hollyoaks Twitter account posted the message from Kirkwood, sending “love and condolences to Terence’s family.”

The full statement read: “It’s with sadness we share the news that friend of Hollyoaks, Terence Harvey, has died.

“Along with many other roles on TV over the years, Terence played Alistair Longford on Hollyoaks, the grandfather of Texas and India, and Cindy’s millionaire second husband.

“Hollyoaks sends our love and condolences to Terence’s family.”

Terence’s character wed Cindy Cunningham in a lavish ceremony even though she was just doing it for his millions.

The pair headed off on a luxury honeymoon, only for Cindy to later return and reveal her husband had died in mysterious circumstances, leaving all his cash to her.

Actress Stephanie Waring, who plays Cindy, has also tweeted her sorrow at Terence’s passing.

“Such a sad loss R.I.P Terence,” she wrote.

As well as his recurring role in the Chester-based soap, Terence was a well-known face in Soapland, having also appeared in EastEnders, Doctors, Family Affairs, Holby City, and Waterloo Road.

He also popped up in several period dramas including Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge.

Other former co-stars have also paid tribute, with Emmerdale actor John Bowe (Lawrence White) saying: “RIP. Terence Harvey.”

And Waterloo Road’s Philip Martin Brown, writing: “RIP Terence Harvey #wonderfulman.”
