The meaning behind Alesha Dixon’s beautiful baby name for newborn daughter

Alesha Dixon recently confirmed the birth of her second child after giving birth seven weeks ago.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge 41, also shared the first images of her adorable daughter on social media and revealed her name: Anaya Safiya.

Now, the special meaning of the tot’s name has emerged.

Anaya is Alesha’s second child with partner Azuka Ononye.

According to the Quranic Baby Names website, the name Anaya means: “An indirect Quranic name for girls that means ‘care’, ‘protection’, ‘diligence’.

“It is a variant of the name Inaya.”

Alesha is already a mum to six-year-old Azura Sienna, and on Monday, she announced the arrival of her second daughter on social media.

She said: “Anaya Safiya born 20.08.19 7 weeks ago this little angel came into our lives!

“As I celebrate my birthday today I feel like the luckiest girl on the planet.”

Back in May, the singer announced she was pregnant live on Britain’s Got Talent.

At the time, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly made the announcement during the opening number for the first live show.

Alesha stood up and showed off her stomach as the Geordie duo sang: “And Alesha is expecting.”

Alesha gushed: “Over the moon, yes. Lovely place to celebrate it.”
