BGT judge Amanda Holden ‘lands £1 million record deal’

The talent judge has a secret singing talent of her own!

Amanda Holden is set to launch a music career after reportedly landing a £1 million record deal.

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda has apparently signed to record giant Virgin EMI after finding herself in a bidding war.

An insider told The Sun that she is already working on her first album, adding: “Amanda only signed the deal a matter of weeks ago but she is very excited and can’t wait to get going.”

Amanda, 48, went to theatre school as a child before she focussed on acting as a career, landing roles in dramas including Wild At Heart and Kiss Me Kate.

Although she is able to sing, the BGT star rarely revealed her voice to fans.

But in December last year, Amanda recorded a version of Tightrope, from the hit musical movie The Greatest Showman, for her husband Chris Hughes.

Together with her daughters Lexi, 13, and seven-year-old Hollie, Amanda made the song to celebrate both her husband’s birthday and their 10 year wedding anniversary.

After uploading it to social media, the song went viral and it immediately turned the heads of music executives at some of the world’s biggest record labels, including Warner and Sony.

At the time, fans inundated Amanda with praise. One wrote: “Utterly beautiful. You have an absolutely beautiful tone and depth to your voice. Why haven’t I seen / heard you sing before????”

Another commented: “That is just beautiful! Amanda x you are a singer! Who knew?!”

A third tweeted: “Sobbing here, it’s a gorgeous rendition with such warmth.”

Along with news that she is recording her debut album, Amanda certainly has her hands full at the moment.

Having recently wrapped this year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent, she is up and out of bed at the crack of dawn every day to host Heart Radio’s Breakfast Show alongside Jamie Theakston.
