Controversial BBC One comedy star wants to book into Benidorm!

One word: CHAOS

| Updated:

It’d certainly be one hell of a comedy crossover, if the stars of the BBC’s huge hit Mrs Brown’s Boys were to check into ITV’s Solana resort.

But that’s the idea that has been suggested by Irish funnyman Brendan O’Carroll.

Apparently he is a big fan of the show and would love to send the Brown family on a trip to Benidorm.

Actress Sherrie Hewson revealed that the Mrs Brown’s Boys boss Brendan asked her to suggest the idea to Benidorm’s writer Derren Litten.

Sherrie, who plays Joyce Temple Savage in the ITV sitcom, told the Daily Mirror that people often approach her about wanting cameos in the sun-soaked show.

“Another person who asked me to ask Derren about coming on the show was Brendan O’Carroll from Mrs Brown’s Boys,” she revealed.

“He said to me, ‘couldn’t we all just come into the hotel and check in as a family? Even if you don’t see us again, just come in, check us all in, take no notice of us, just that scene, and then you don’t see them’.

“It’s lovely that so many people want to be on the show,” she added.

“It’s always great, and obviously we all say it’s the best show in the world and it is, and it’s the best cast in the world.”

While the two shows definitely split viewers into ‘love it or hate it’ camps, they do both attract millions of fans and have picked up plenty of awards.

And it’d definitely be an interesting prospect to see Mrs Brown and co hanging out by the Solana pool…

Benidorm returns to ITV with its ninth series on Monday night.
