When tech expert and motoring enthusiast Adam Rayner appeared on BBC News this week, he no doubt hoped to impress the TV viewers with his knowledge of his specialist subject.
Adam, who calls himself the UK’s leading expert in extreme audio, from Home Cinema to Car HiFi, appeared on the news to discuss EU speed limits – but viewers were massively distracted by what was going on behind him!

In fact bemused viewers appeared to make a game out of his appearance on the show – playing the ‘hidden objects game’ because of the untidy state of the room in which he conducted the interview.
Appearing from his home in Watford, Adam chatted from a room surrounded by home debris – including a multi-pack of Monster Munch crisps, a barrel of Digestive biscuits, a fridge and even a didgeridoo!
As Adam discussed EU plans to introduce speed limit gadgets in cars, viewers marvelled at the assortment of items behind him.

As Adam – the brother of the food critic Jay and the son of the late agony Aunt Claire – talked to news reporter Annita McVeigh, fans joked that the nation’s current obsession, organising consultant Marie Kondo, would NOT approve of the state of his room.
One wrote: “Adam Rayner needs to have a bit of a tidy up. #DoesThisSparkJoy.”

Marie Kondo currently has a TV show on Netflix about decluttering, and advises hoarders to get rid of anything that doesn’t “spark joy”.
And, to be fair, a big bag of Monster Munch definitely does!
