Speculation rises on next Strictly Come Dancing cast with Dr Ranj Singh and Gogglebox stars

Producers have these two fun-lovers in mind

It’s that time of year again when everyone starts speculating about who is going to be appearing on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

And of course names are flying around thick and fast!

Among those who are supposedly in the running are This Morning medic Dr Ranj Singh, who also has a kids on the BBC.

And to tick another regular BBC box, so too is towering 6ft 4 BBC Breakfast host Ben Thompson.

But rumour has it that Strictly producers are after a married couple to take part on the show and have their beady eyes a certain reality set of sweethearts.

Steph and Dom Parker, the tipsy twosome from Gogglebox, are apparently in the running.

According to reports the show’s bigwigs think they will be hilarious on the dance floor and provide viewers with as many chuckles as Ed Balls did last year!

The couple are due to strut their stuff on Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief where they will pretend to be Cher and Meatloaf.

Producers will apparently l be watching closely to see how they go down with viewers.

A source said: “They’re great characters and everyone loves watching them just when they’re sat on their sofa.

“Dom has the potential to provide great routines like Ed did and Steph would be fantastic going up against the judges.

“They’re definitely on the list and this weekend’s show is a great way to see how they look on stage.”

In the past Strictly chiefs used the charity dance show as a testing ground for new recruits.

Scott Mills, Vanessa Feltz,  Tameka Empson, Kate Garraway, and Richard Arnold all appeared on Let’s Dance before Strictly.

While sounds like a fun idea, a BBC spokesman has predictably said: “Nothing has been confirmed for the next series of Strictly.”
