The service will take place today

| Updated:

All eyes will be on Windsor Castle today (Saturday July 6) when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby son, Archie, is christened.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to welcome family and close friends to the private ceremony, but one closely-guarded secret has yet to be revealed – who will be the royal tot’s godparents?

Close family members the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Charles and Camilla will attend, but the Queen – because of prior commitments – is unable to be there.

Also in attendance will be a close circle of the royal couple’s friends, and reports have circulated speculating as to which ones will have the honour of being godparents.

Jessica Mulroney was spotted out in NYC on Tuesday morning. Meghan Markle's stylist BFF filmed an interview of her own in Chelsea, looking amazing in a flowing Floral dress. Cameras surrounded her as she got her makeup touched up before filming the segment. Jessica Mulroney, Meghan’s best friend, is tipped heavily to be one of them.

The fashion stylist was an important part of Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 and has arrived in the capital for today’s occasion.

On Prince Harry’s side, it’s been reported that one of  Harry’s closest friends, Charlie Van Straubenzee, is in the running.

The two both attended Lugrove school, and they had roles in each other’s weddings.

Outside bets include tennis legend Serena Williams, currently playing at Wimbledon, but she has ruled herself out of the running after revealing at a press conference earlier this week she won’t be able to attend the service – and that Meghan “understands”.

The Duchess made a surprise appearance at the tennis tournament last week to cheer on her close friend.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson told The Express: “Meghan’s pals are over for the big day and while it’s all about Archie, our eyes are on exactly who’ll be given the Godparents honour.

“Jessica Mulroney and Charlie Van Straubenzee continue to head the betting but the Duchess of Sussex’s guests at Wimbledon may have given the game away.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could “buck tradition” for baby Archie’s christening and add their own twist to the occasion.

According to royal commentator Camilla Tominey, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will have to follow “royal protocol” but could put their own signature twist on the special day.
